Taking us through into April come 2 brothers – Joe & Ru Brooks whom together form Revaux. The Leeds based pair have been making a slow rise in the scene over the past 2 years. With recent releases on labels like Lifestyle, Terabyte and Saucy Music – they now offer up their debut on Soulvent.
Northern Air kicks off with soft pads, balanced by a tight drum break and soft interspersed vocals. This jazz-tinged liquid offering matches it’s title, with it’s cool refreshing tone and subtle structure. The second half of the drop gives way to a meatier bassline, offset with twinkling pianos and shimmering synth plucks.
On the flip the duo team up with Azlan for Sinner, an equally paced track. Airy pads lead in chilled piano alongside a soulful vocal, with occasional warming bass sweeps.
Out on the 24th of April, this release is one to welcome in Spring with with showers of soul.
