The story behind Soulvent…

Soulvent Records is an independent record label based in East London. It was started in early 2014 by Joe Goss, Jack 'Pola' Higgins & Liam Holyoak-Rackal - with a fierce yet simple intention; championing new young talent. Initially, they gave a platform to artists like GLXY, BMotion, Pola & Bryson and more. Releasing drum & bass from across the spectrum of the scene, the label gained a notable following and was recognised as one of the most up-and-coming imprints in the game.

The label also acted as a platform for co-founder Jack ‘Pola’ Higgins to release music alongside Harry ‘Bryzone’ Bryson, with the pair realising their destiny with the debut Pola & Bryson album ‘This Time Last Year’ in 2016. With a number of notable compilation albums in the back catalogue, the 2nd artist album came in the form of In:Most’s 2020 16-track smasher: Voyager. Later in 2020, the label entered into a formal partnership with the mighty Hospital Records which led to the refreshing & exciting remix project ‘Soulvent Meets Hospital’. More recently Soulvent has punctuated its steady stream of artist albums (from the likes of Askel & Elere, Mountain and Visionobi) with a few varied releases punctuating the singles, such as the popular ‘Soul Music’ compilation series. 

Returning to operation as a more independent entity in late 2023, the label continues to deliver on its core values, representing global unchampioned talent. 2024 saw releases from label mainstays such as Hugh Hardie, In:Most, Visionobi and Askel & Elere, as well as giving a home to a wide variety of talent in different stages of their careers. Invadhertz, tominthechamber, Hillsdom and Enta all seeing releases on the label for the first time.

Now as 2025 gets off the ground, with renewed vigour, Soulvent Records will celebrate the 10 Year milestone in style. A packed schedule of high quality music is the foundation for another busy year that will also bring limited edition merchandise, memorable events and another strong remix project the label continues to support international talent spanning all subgenres and flavours with a passion.
