Ruth Royall

Bristol musician Ruth Royall has been blessing beats with her signature soulful sound and jazz-infused melodies for the last 11 years. The singer-songwriter spent her early years working with a jazz label and frequenting the famed Abbey Road studio in London for recording sessions on a debut LP, followed by a few years of touring. Her influences stem from far and wide, including Jungle, Snarky Puppy, The Nextmen and D’Angelo to name a few.

Upon realising the intensity of her love for all forms of dance music, she decided to focus her efforts on all things electronic and quickly began to gain momentum. Touring with Fred V & Grafix on their farewell 2018 tour marked a pivotal point in her development, and her writing relationship began to blossom with Grafix as they worked together on his early solo work.

‘Running In The Dark’ saw her collaborate with Soulvent co-founders Pola & Bryson on their 2019 ‘Pacific’ EP, and the songstress has since continued to pump out high-quality music across a whole host of genres and labels. From Hospital to Viper, Shogun to Soulvent, Rampage to MURKT and more. She’s worked with an impressive list of producers including Mollie Collins, Ruckspin, David Zowie and Ekko & Sidetrack. Her work as part of Paper Dragon showcases her versatility, while her profile continues to grow with even more high-profile d&b collaborations in progress and exciting releases across a range of BPMs on the horizon.

Over the last 2 years, she’s received consistent international radio play, over 8 million DSP streams and a nomination for best vocalist at the Drum and Bass Awards to name but a few milestones. With a ruthless work ethic, she has undeniably cemented her place at the forefront of the music industry’s electronic scene and with her debut release featuring production credits from Las Vegas-based brothers Blacklab and Hospital alumni Makoto & Mitekiss just around the corner, the future looks regal to say the least.
